Qualifications & Affiliations
Marlin is an AHPRA-registered Provisional Psychologist currently completing his Master of Applied Psychology (Clinical) at Victoria University. He previously completed a Bachelor of Psychological Science and Graduate Diploma of Psychology at Deakin University. Marlin is a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and the International Association for Relational Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy (IARPP).
Marlin’s Approach
Marlin provides a patient, welcoming and non-judgemental approach to therapy with a commitment to collaborative and client-centred practice. His approach aligns with principles of Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Interpersonal Therapy and cognitive behavioural approaches. Marlin has a passion for supporting individuals to address dysfunctional behaviour patterns, cope with emotional dysregulation and overcome relationship challenges by exploring the impact of previous life experiences, uncovering unconscious internal processes, guiding self-exploration and fostering self-compassion.
Work History & Special Interests
Marlin has experience working with a diverse range of individuals from across the lifespan within both clinical and community settings. He has experience treating anxiety, depression, OCD, autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Marlin has experience helping individuals understand and cope with trauma, navigate difficult life transitions and address interpersonal/relationship challenges. Marlin is greatly interested in exploring the nuances of attachment and developmental trauma and is passionate about working with neurodivergent people and with a trauma-informed approach.
